We preserve and bring your photo images to life!

How It Works

DVD Slideshows:

  1. Gather all the photos for your custom slideshow.  Or, scan them onto a CD or DVD.  Or upload your photos to one of the many free online photo storage sites.  Just ask and we will recommend sites.  Digital formats supported: JPG, BMP. GIF, PCT, PNG and TIF.

  2. Things to be considered that we can talk about when we hear from you:

    1. The order your photos should appear in the slideshow, if any.

    2. You may also want to add notes or captions to  certain slides.

    3. A title for your slideshow.

    4. Which photo best represents your slideshow.

    (The title and photo will appear on the DVD disk and the disk case.  The title will also appear on the first slide. If you’re not sure, we can help you with this.)

  3. Music:  We will work with you if you are not certain which song or songs would be most appropriate or if you do not have a music CD containing the song or songs you desire.  Otherwise, send us your personal music CD or CD's indicating which song or songs you would like included on your slideshow DVD.  These will be returned with your photos and slideshow DVD.  There is no additional cost for adding music you provide to your slideshow.

  4. Carefully package and send your photos or photo CD/DVD, and music CD's to The Way We Were..., 2020 N. California Ave., Suite 7, #191, Chicago, IL 60647.  Free pickup and delivery service can be arranged from and to certain locations within the Chicagoland area.  Call to determine eligibility.  (If you have uploaded your photos to an online site, provide us with the information necessary to access your photos.)

  5. We will contact you as soon as we hear from you.

Photo Preservation:

  1. Gather all the photos for digitalization.

  2. This is an optional step but one that will have a high pay back in the future when you wish to locate a particular photo or group of photos.  Place the photos in the order you wish them to appear on the disk and group them by category (folders).  Separate the groups by placing them in different envelopes or by other means that will not damage the photos.

  3. Things to be considered that we can talk about after we receive your photos:

    1. A title for your disks .

    2. Which photo, if any, best represents your group or groups of photos.

    (The title and photo will appear on the CD/DVD disk and the disk case.  Keep in mind that there is a hole in the center of CD/DVD disks.)

  4. Carefully package and send your prints to The Way We Were..., 2020 N. California Ave., Suite 7, #191, Chicago, IL 60647.  Free pickup and delivery service can be arranged from and to certain locations within the Chicagoland area.  Call to determine eligibility.

  5. We will contact you as soon as we receive your photos.
